Farstrider Sleddogs

A bit about myself and the dogs: I keep a small kennel in the northern hinterland area of the Seward Peninsula, Alaska. I prefer to keep my overall numbers low, with one main 8 dog team, and enough for smaller training teams and a 6-dog racing team from the best performers. I place pups with proper working (sledding) homes either competitively or recreationally - but I breed only very rarely! I generally choose to run small back country teams because its the kind of mushing that I feel connected to and that I feel fulfils my dog's purpose and strengths. I do race with my dogs to prove them in an official setting, and because the dogs and I enjoy the excitement of challenging ourselves on a novel trail with other teams!

"How can I identify your dogs through their names and prefixes!?"
My naming conventions might be a bit confusing at first, but here is how they break down:

Seppala Siberian Sleddogs: 'Farstrider's [Name]'
Alaskan Huskies: 'Henken's [Name]'
Siberian Huskies (non-Seppala): '[Name] at Farstrider'

Dogs that were not born in my kennel, or were co-bred with another breeder, might differ slightly from this. However, all Seppala Siberians will have "SEPPALA" in their dog description, so should be easily identifiable if their name doesn't conform to the above.

A Grand Seppala Welcome to our Newcomers!
I am beyond excited to welcome 4 beautiful new Seppalas from Starry's Dawn Chorus kennel: Ashe, Wolf, Zukala, and Spidops - Starry is one of the most prolific Seppala breeders, and her lines are an amazing addition to my Seppala program. I have also welcomed two Seppala sisters from a recent litter at LupaTricia's Husky Farm: Suka and Sessi. I look forward to seeing their future on our teams! In addition to these youngsters, I've also imported two male Seppala studs from project founder Lainar; Pedro and Divers. These boys come from a rare bloodline established by former Seppala breeder Petra, so they are a precious genetic resource to the breed and to our kennel. Finally, on loan from Ace's Eye of Aurora kennel, we welcomed Lucy, a gorgeous young Seppala bitch whom we are hoping to breed to main leader Ioktan soon. She is from a combination of Ace and Lainar's Seppala bloodlines, and is a fine addition to our teams, proving her worth as a breeding candidate already!

Breeding Practices

**I am currently weaning a litter of Siberian Huskies whelped by my girl Baiely, sired by racing stud "Starlight's Dream in Static". There may be *one* pup available for placement from this litter, depending on Aptitudes at 4 days old. I will want to discuss the placement directly with any buyers, as this is a high-value litter and I want to be sure the pups will be cared for and worked, preferably in a Sledding kennel.**

If you are interested in puppies from my dogs, message me as soon as you are sure - I breed only once in a rare blue moon and often have pups spoken for far in advance!
