About River High Shelties

River High Shelties has existed since 2008 and ever since then I have always had shelties. This is also around the same time that I got my first sheltie, named Akira, who is my accounts namesake. Here at River High Shelties we breed Shetland Sheepdog, Australian Shepherd, and all three Belgian Shepherd varieties. Truly, our name should be changed to River High Shepherds. Recently we have also started to add Great Pyrenees to our kennel. This is going to be a challenge since there are no high HH active dogs.
Breedings
Shelties will be bred on their 100th day only. Depending on the quality of the litter 1 or 2 puppies will be picked. I may put up other puppies for private sale.
Aussies will also only be bred on their 100th day. 2 puppies will be kept for good litters, 1 or none in poor litters.
Belgian Shepherd breedings differ on variety. Belgian Sheepdog will been bred on only their 100th day. 2 puppies will be kept from each litter. Belgian Tervuren will be bred on their 88th and 100th days. 2 puppies will be kept. Belgian Malinois will be bred on both their 88th and 100th days and 2 puppies must be kept (only 2 females).
Great Pyrenees differ based on the female. Arctic Fox will be bred on her 76th, 88th, and 100th day because she will have small litters (1-3 pups). Another female that we will be adding will be bred on her 88th and 100th day and 2 puppies will be kept.
A few rules concerning my kennel are as follows:
1. I require a message from people that wish to purchase one of my dogs. All I want to know is what you plan on doing with my dog. I realize I can not control what you do with my dog once you own it, however, I can make sure that those who do not follow my conditions can no longer purchase or breed with my dogs.
2. I do kennel checks. If I don't like what I see I won't accept your bid or breeding request.
3. I do not sell my dogs or breed to kennels that breed at low levels. I do not care if it is for genetic reasons.

About Me

I'm a university student from western Canada and consequently I only usually play when I'm not taking classes. I also do agility with my dog Akira. She is the sheltie that appears above. Feel free to message me.
Some strange goals in my kennel:
I'm one of the few breeders on this site (especially with shelties it seems) that cares whether or not the colours expressed by my dogs are considered conformation faults or not. In the case of the sheltie, this means that no piebald or extreme piebald is allowed. This also means that sable (fawn), blue merle, tri, bi black, and bi blue are the only colours I can have. So I'm breeding out both red genes and piebald genes in shelties. This is proving to be quite the task since half of the genes in my shelties' population are piebald genes. >
