Dog names:
I prefer to name dogs after their parents or ancestors so I can tell at a glance which ones are related. Also the challenge of it is just fun. But sometimes I import dogs, and then I have to make up names from scratch.
Many of the GSDs are named after German poetry, titles or lines from within the poems. Lots of Goethe and Wagner there. Border Collies get titles of Yeats' poems. The Beagles are usually named after country songs. The English Springer Spaniels are named after popular songs - off the British charts, though.

Kennel goals: I would like to produce 24HH dogs of several breeds. I want isabella with cream points extreme piebald beagles and isabella with silver points German Shepherds, both so that I can produce chocolates and blues easily. I may be able to get solid isabella GSDs too, from the aa gene. I'd like to eliminate fawn from my GSD and Beagle lines so that I have red, cream, and silver only. In BCs I want piebald isabella merles with silver points. All of those are multiple recessive genes and will take some time, but pretty much all the other colors can be bred from them.
