Current Breed Lines

Mastiff Kennels is in the process of breeding healthy lines of Mastiffs, Neapolitan Mastiffs, Tibetan Mastiffs, and English Mastiffs. We focus on getting our lines narrowed down, then focus on only breeding on the 98th and 110th days, respectively. We also pair males and females together, based on who matches up for l/la and hh/HH, to breed for more perfect genes.

What do we focus on, when breeding? Mastiff Kennels focuses on the health of the puppies above all else! We strive to breed puppies who carry no defects (perfect 24 HH), before all else. Our second priority are our litter sizes, which are sometimes bred in alongside breeding us breeding for perfect health. We strive for lala, and usually aim to completely remove l by the third generation, wherever possible. We strive for 4STAT genes only after we've perfected the other genes, as they are a lower priority.

Support: Spanish Mastiff

Spanish Mastiffs (Link) are a molosser breed of dogs that are not currently on Furry Paws. They are recognized by the FCI, AKC, and UCK, and are notable known as guardians and defenders of herds. They would therefore, most likely be Flock Guardians on FP.

Not only would it give us an extra breed on Furry Paws, they are known for a variety of applicable colors, and would carry the following genes: (K, Kbr, k), (Em, E, e), B, (D, d), sl, (ay, aw, at), (S, si, sp, sw), m, r, (T, t), (C, cch, ce), g, (U, u). They would not express or carry White (Sl), Chocolate/Brown (b), saddling (asa), merle (M), roaning (R), or greying (G). Likewise, they wouldn't be able to produce Isabella (b d).

Support: Dinosaur Critters

Dinosaur (Link) critters is an idea that I thought would be cool to have as pets. Inspiration for the suggestion came as a cool thought to diversify our current collection of critters found on Furry Paws to date. Dinosaur critters aren't the first pets you would recommend someone to take home, but then again neither are Hippogriffs or Dragons. They would give us more collectibles for our critter pastures, and give us more things to spend our FPD (or FPP) on!

Support: Automatic Locking

Automatic Locking (Link) is a suggestion that came to mind, after losing years of hard work on past lines through unplanned, real life emergencies pulling me away from the online world of Furry Paws. The game would be able to recognize when you haven't been on in a very long time, and automatically lock your dogs up tight for you - thereby 'freezing' your lines so that they don't age, and so that you don't have to lose all of your hard work. This has happened to me quite a few times in my life, and I thought that the idea would be very beneficial for other players of Furry Paws, as well as myself.

Selling and Studding Services FAQs

Breeding Requirement

Mastiff Kennels holds stringent kennel checks with outside kennels that wishes to breed to one of our studs. We only stud male dogs who carry no genetic defects, and are at least level 30. We perform kennel checks, and will not stud out our males to primarily rescue kennels or non-showing homes, as well. We will waive this, providing: (A) The kennel is not primarily a rescue kennel, even if they rescue dogs as a part time feature, and (B) they still enter their dogs into shows, and care for them accordingly.

Litters

.

Mastiff Kennels generally offers the SPOL (second pick of the litter) for adoption. We place pups up for offer to prospective new show homes, after we've chosen out the POL (pick of the litter). Litter prices are generally reflective of their capability (parentage level), though our formula tends to change as we see fit, to create a more fair pricing range. Achievement Litters are usually the SPOLs placed up for free, to help us with the current achievements for Progenitor. Likewise, we will return bids for free achievement litters.
