Welcome to StarShet's kennel! I’m a Sheltie enthusiast + breeder; my heart will always beam a little extra for them.

About me

I currently own two Shelties IRL that I train and compete in a various amount of sports with. At my kennel you will find nothing but high quality Shetland Sheepdogs, but I also work on some other breeds that come in my interest of dogs.

To me, it's important for the breeds to remain as good as possible by reserving the breed standard and history, training/competing in sports and of course; health testing.

Breed history

Shelties originated on the Shetland islands - the goal was to create a small, working dog with a dense coat. It's hard to tell what breeds were used to create the Sheltie; but most believe that farmers mixed Rough Collies and Border Collies with smaller breeds to create this intelligent little herder.

Today, the Shetland Sheepdog is a popular allround sport dog that thrives as an active family dog.
