Rest easy while I brew some nettle tea and provide a bowl of refreshing stream water for your pup. All settled? Great! So, you want to know about this place? You're in for a treat my friend..

A section of the montane forest I was interested in was small, compact, and diverse. Its canopy was monopolized by hazel, maple, and ash, which provided just enough openings for light to pass down for a hodgepodge of mushrooms to use the sloping and slanting ground below. Quiet branches suspended from many trees, and a potpourri of flowers, which clung to any space they could find, contrasted against the otherwise beige backdrop. A mishmash of animal sounds, most of which were insects and critters, filled the air and were out of sync with the occasional sounds of breaking twigs beneath the feet of larger animals. I fell in love with it the area the moment I saw it.

I set my intentions on creating a space for myself and the surrounding creatures but dogs mainly found their way to me. These poor animals were either dumped in the middle of the night or left behind during the day. So I built them their own place to call home, in a garden that would be their first taste of freedom and unwavering love...

A luscious garden of grass, now bordered by thriving hedges, bushes, and shrubs was created. A pond was built in the back right of the garden, long, peaceful, and ever-flowing which some dogs absolutely love during the summer heat. The rows of flowers are now bordered by the larger ones, but have no difficulties claiming a spot of their own; they're rich in species. A small, picket fence loops around the garden, giving people an elegant way of exploring the garden and all it has to offer. Grass, roots, and vines are always trying to reclaim every part of the garden, always searching for new places to grow and expand. The pond is almost like a caretaker of the garden in its own right. The rows of flowers are surely a sight to behold, and the hedges, bushes, and shrubs can't be denied their share of the attention, but the rest will just always be eclipsed by the pond.

A lone, towering tree stands near the front entrance in a seemingly well-placed corner, its leaves and branches rise high into the sky. The flowers and plants are growing without boundaries, there's not even a single weed sight; they're growing in all sorts and sizes. A path of paw-printed engraved stone twists around the garden presents visitors with an elegant way of discovering the garden. Here grass, roots, and vines try to claim every part of the garden as their own with every chance they get as well, held back only by sheers, trimmers, and mowers. The tree, an Engelmann Spruce, has stood there for a few years, is the main centerpiece of the garden, and was specifically cultivated to be this. The flowers and plants certainly attract attention too, and the hedges and flower bushes are eye-catching in their own right, but the attention is always drawn to the tree...

You've finished your tea long before the story has ended. A single tear is evident on your downcast face. Your furry companion stirs from its slumber before drifting comfortably back into sleep. We shake hands and you bid us farewell as you wander back towards the city...
