Kilo’s Quality Akitas and More

Welcome to Kilo’s Quality Akitas and More!

About My Breeding
I breed for quality, and diversity in color in my Akitas. First, I focus on achieving Excellent quality hips, elbows, eyes, and ears. Then I work on breeding in the ‘lala’ allele and producing 24HH puppies. I hope to reach my goal of the ideal “perfect” puppies produced and sold. I will be expanding and upgrading my kennels over time, remaining mostly focused on my Akitas. I prefer not to keep any more than one of each color unless the breed has a small amount of color variances possible in which I will keep a certain amount of each gender depending on the amount of color variances possible within the breed. I won’t focus on breeding for specific sport aptitudes or stat boosts until way further on into my breeding.

Puppies
I will always aptitude test my pups and only put my best puppies up for reservation. Currently, puppies will only be sold if there are none of my interest and if they are of decent quality (good hips, elbows, ears, and eyes) or better. They are put up for anyone and whoever gives the best offer. I only sell one puppy from each litter as I do not have an ‘Elite Account’ so the puppy with the first offer will be the one going to its new home. I put a minimum limit on offers based on the quality of the puppies in the litters.

Litter Listings and Pricing
In the litter section of my kennel, if they are listed as “RESERVABLE [# of F][# of M],” then I have decided not to keep any of the puppies from the litter and have listed all of the puppies with Good Hips, Elbows, Eyes, and Ears or better for a price based off of their quality. If the litter is labeled as “DJA’s (name of puppy)” then I am keeping a puppy from that litter. If it is labeled as “Pet Homes” then I decided that none of the puppies from that litter are of a fit enough quality to be sold for showing or breeding. If listed as “SOLD” then that goes without saying, a puppy from that litter has already been picked and sold.
As I said, I price my puppies based off their quality:

  • ’Good’ hips, elbows, eyes, and ears = $250 minimum
  • One ‘Excellent’ = $500 minimum
  • Every ‘Excellent’ after that = +$500
  • Carries ‘lala’ allele = +$250
  • Every 5 ‘HH’s’ = +$100
COLORING WILL NEVER EFFECT PRICING

Adult and Young Dog Sales and Pricing
I do not typically sell my dogs unless they are puppies in a litter that didn’t fulfill my needs, the only time I do this is when I have bred a puppy of that same color (and gender depending on the breed) that has better health or such. When I do sell them, they always have a starting price of $1000 and depending on the dogs stats, health, etc., the price is marked up and down based off of those things to lead me to a final sales price which will be posted for the dog under public sale:

  • Every ‘Excellent’ = +$1000
  • Every ‘Fair’ = -$500
  • Every ‘Poor’ = -$1000
  • Carries ‘lala’ allele = +$500
  • Every ‘HH’ = +$100
  • Every ‘hh’ = -$100
If the dog has ‘EEEE 24HH lala,’ it will be sold for $10000.

Kennel Name and Prefix
My kennel name, “Kilo’s Quality Akitas and More,” is inspired by my family dog I have had for a majority of my childhood, Kilo the American Akita. He is 9 years old and still mentally a puppy in an old dog’s body. My kennel prefix is a shortened version of a nickname my mom has called me for years, Deeja.
