Palomidas

Palomidas Sighthounds is named after my first dog as a child- Popcorn. I didnt want to be Popcorn Sighthounds (how funny does that sound?), so I started finding translations. In spanish (of which I am a quarter), the word for popcorn is "palomitas." Think upon what I wanted the prefix to be, "mitas" was going to be used. Then I thought- hey, why not be "midas," as a goal of the kennel is the turn everything to gold!

I specialize in sighthounds and currently have Whippets and Silkens. The goal of my kennel is to aquire rare patterns and colours, but also excellent performance dogs. If you want to breed to any of my dogs, please just ask and I will look into it.

4 Jan 16- We have acquired some rescued greyhounds! They were in the humane society and I took them in from the person who rescued them.

8 Jan 16 - Borzois have been added into the kennel and hope to have a Slougi puppy or two in the next few days. We are slowly getting bigger! Also we registered all of the adult dogs in the kennel today in the sighthound casso. Next step is to register the kennel- figures crossed we get the prefix.

13 Jan 16- We have two new Sloughi puppies in the kennel- Cynthia and Gru! We also aquired the kennel prefix "Midas" so if you see that around, it ties back to us in one way or another!

25 May 16- It's been a while since an update! In the time since we've been gone, we've brought rough collies and German Shepherds into the kennel. We now have a handful of 24HH lala dogs and have retired all of our starter dogs- Rose, Colbie, and Hershey- as well as many older dogs that have been bought or rescued. We hope to keep getting great dogs, both in performance and genes.

9 Aug 16- the new goal of the kennel is going to focus on 24HH lala dogs, but also colour preferences in each breed.
•Greyhound- blues, blue fawns, blue fawn brindles
•Borzoi- pieblad, extreme piebald, no brindle
•Silken Windhound- brindle, sable, self coloured, and piebald
•Whippet- anything goes except blue and masks
•German Shepherd Dog- no preference for these guys, though more blue and chocolate would be ideal
• Rough Collie- more blue merle and tri, though the sable isn't going to leave
