Northern Shrike Kennels

Welcome to Night Shadow Kennels!

Striving for canine excellence

I am focused on breeding top-quality dogs, that are outstanding in all regards - lala, 24HH, all Excellent, high levels, high mulitpliers, and eventually aiming for Best of Breeds and maybe certain colours when I get to that point. I have a variety of breeds which I work with, including Shetland Sheepdogs, Icelandic Sheepdogs, German Shepherds, Rough Collies, Border Collies, Papillons, Pomeranians, Alaskan Malamutes, and Miniature Dachshunds, and my new first generation Large Münsterländer project.

I've been on FP for 7 years now, and I am a Newbie Helper, so I am pretty knowledgeable about the game. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message; I don't bite - usually ;) !

My Dogs

The breeds I focus on at Night Shadow Kennels include Shetland Sheepdogs, Icelandic Sheepdogs, German Shepherds, Rough Collies, Border Collies, Papillons, Pomeranians, Alaskan Malamutes, Miniature Dachshunds, and Large Münsterländers. I am trying to focus each breed on a singular sport and stat.

GSDs: Schutzhund (Intelligence, Stamina, Strength)
Shetland Sheepdogs: Agility (Agility, Intelligence, Speed)
Icelandic Sheepdogs: Flyball (Stamina, Agility, Speed)
Border Collies: Flyball (Stamina, Agility, Speed)
L. Münsterländers: Field Trials (Strength, Stamina, Charisma)
Mini Dachshunds: Tracking (Stamina, Speed, Intelligence)
Papillons: Show (Intelligence, Charisma, Strength)
Pomeranians: Scent Hurdles (Charisma, Intelligence, Speed)
Alaskan Malamutes: Pulling (Strength, Agility, Stamina)
Rough Collies: Pulling (Strength, Agility, Stamina)

My goal for all my breeds is to eventually have lala, 24HH, all Excellent dogs, and I want to improve the multiplier and thus the level reached with every generation. Once I get further towards this goal, I may also try to bring in specific colours.

Highest Levels

To ensure that my dogs reach the highest levels, I use collars, leashes and food focusing on one stat for each dog, with the best type that they can have with their level. I also try to use boosters on my young dogs when I can. All of my dogs are trained and competed every day because this is crucial in order to reach high levels.

Breeding and Sales Information

Breeding:

Females will almost never be up for breeding. Quality males will be up for breeding once they reach level 30, with a minimum breeding level of 25.

Before accepting breeding requests I will do a quick kennel check. I don't necessarily care if your dogs have good genetics or quality, but I want to make sure that you care for your dogs every day that they are unlocked and that they are assigned with appropriate food, leashes and collars. The dog you are proposing to breed also cannot have been bred more than twice already (since litter quality decreases after a female's second breeding).

If you have questions or anything, shoot me a message. I'm also pretty understanding about exceptions to my general rules if you have a reason; for example, if you have a female that's been bred more than twice already, where you bought a dog that was already bred and wanted to breed it once yourself, so message me about that if you want. I want only to make sure that the people using my studs, which are generally fairly low priced for the quality, are actually going to care for their dogs and show them and attempt to improve the quality in their lines, not just have them sit around in a kennel uncared for.

If I ever accept a request to breed to one of my males and he's locked, just shoot me a message and I'll be happy to unlock him for you as soon as I get the chance!

Sales:

I don't usually have my adult dogs up for sale. If they are in my kennel it is for a reason and I will not be selling them, so don't ask.

Often I will keep 1 pup from a litter and put the others up for reserve. The starting bid will always be at least $5000, since that's the store price, but it will often be higher, usually $10,000 or $15,000, for my better quality dogs. I usually don't put up dogs with Fair traits, but if you are interested in a pup that is not up for reserve, message me and I will most likely sell it to you if I have not already chosen 2 pups from that litter.

Just like with my breeding males, I will do a quick kennel check before accepting a bid: you need to care for your dogs every day (or else lock them) and they need to have appropriate collars, leashes and food.

Kennel Mascot

This section is dedicated to my real-life dog, Tia. She is a Papillon-Pomeranian mix, although she also has some other breeds that we aren't sure of, because she was adopted from a shelter. She is 9 years old, although she still acts like a puppy sometimes :) Tia Tia Tia Tia Tia
