Our Mission: To raise the population, popularity, and awareness levels of specific breeds
by training, breeding, and representing only the highest quality of each selected breed.

Hello, and welcome to Underdogs.

We are a kennel that focuses on canine breeds with a site population of around 5,000.
These breeds tend to be overlooked because of their lack of popularity,
but we think every dog deserves to earn some fame.

Although we truly believe all dogs have potential, we chose four low-population breeds that we adopted as starters of our Underdogs line.
Why only four, and why these four?
Realistically, because we don't have the space to take in every single under-represented dog here on FP.
So, we set up a few standards to go by.
We chose breeds based on 3 criteria:
possibilities of colors and/or patterns, quality of lineart, and uniqueness of the breed.
By keeping these standards in mind, these are the four breeds we chose to start with:

Carolina Dog
English Foxhound
Hovawarts
Large Munsterlander

Although we have only chosen four breeds for now, we plan to specialize in more under-represented breeds in the future.
Three of these breeds of is to boost each of these breeds' populations until they reach or go above 10,000.
We will be training and breeding the best of the best of each of these breeds and are happy to share our Underdogs with the world of FP.

----------UPDATE / 2022----------

We have decided to take on another breed in preparation of discontinuing another. We have enjoyed showing and breeding Keeshonds while we have specialized in them, but their time with this kennel is coming to an end. After the first two Keeshonds, who were breed here at Underdogs, have matured into retirement, we will no longer be importing this breed.

Instead, the Lapponian Herder will take their place.

We have chosen to go with a new breed because we have found an interest in specializing in one that has a few more numbers, giving us a bit more competition to deal with. Plus, this breed offers a multitude of colors that we are looking forward to exploiting in future breeding programs.
