Welcome to Candlelit Kennels!

I specialize in Kelpies and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. You will also find other breeds here, known as my “fun” breeds, who I usually don’t breed, and instead have them around simply because I’m interested in the breed!

Currently, I am breeding for optimal health in the form of dogs with no defaults (hh) and excellent ratings in all four traits, with the ultimate goal of achieving breeding that results in 24HH dog! My secondary priority is dogs with strong multipliers (currently, anything above a 1.200x). I'm following the guidelines outlined in this thread, hence the current state of my kennel!

Beyond the above goals, I also have goals specific to each breed:

Goals for my Kelpies:

• Acquire and produce all possible 19 colour combinations
• Aptitudes for herding, flyball, and agility
• Exclusively agi in genotype

Goals for my NSDTRs: [currently on hiatus]

• Acquire (accomplished Nov. 9/16) and produce all possible 4 colour combinations
• Aptitudes for frisbee and field trials
• Exclusively cha and/or stm in genotype
